Our sunglasses are made with 100% recycled plastic collected from the ocean.
Over 8 million tons of plastic ends up in our oceans each year, and the consequences are tragic. Turtles entangled in plastic debris, whales swallowing bottles, microplastics entering our food supply, plastic waste washed up on beaches around the world.
We are a brand inspired by nature and we are committed to protecting our environment by using recycled materials to create our sunglasses.
From the very beginning, the environment has been a stakeholder in this business. We’re not eco-warriors or environmental activists, we just love being outdoors and, like you, want to protect our playground!
The consequences of plastic waste are tragic. Turtles entangled in plastic debris, whales swallowing bottles, microplastics entering our food supply, plastic waste washed up on beaches around the world.
Which is why all Nomads are made from 100% recycled plastic, shipped in sustainable packaging and have two trees planted for every pair sold. Not a scrap of single-use plastic to be found at any stage of our supply chain.
We have partnered with one of the largest global suppliers of sustainable materials. They intercept and recycle plastic all over the globe, from Alaska to Haiti to Southeast Asia
They turn that waste plastic into useable plastic pellets, perfect for your dope (af) sunglasses.
A VERY simple guide to how
nomads are made:
All of our products are shipped using zero single-use plastic. Your sunglasses safely arrive wrapped in a recycled cardboard alternative to bubblewrap. And the shipping bag is made from compostable materials, so once you’re rocking your new shades, throw the bag in your food waste and it will be worm food in 3 months! Even our invoices are printed on recycled paper.
